Things to do in El Poblado on foot
If you're wondering what to do in El Poblado without renting a car or calling a ride, start at Haven's front door. We're on Calle 10A, right between Provenza and Parque Lleras. Of the 88 places in our Medellín guide, 31 are a five-minute walk or less, and 54 are within 15 minutes.
This page pulls together the best of that radius and sorts it by time of day. Walking times on each card are estimates at an easy pace, along real streets, from the hotel entrance.
Rule of thumb: most of Provenza and the Lleras area is one to four minutes away. Manila and Astorga, with their own coffee and food scene, are ten to twelve. For anything farther, or uphill, take a short cab.
By time of day
A full day without leaving the neighborhood
Morning: coffee and a bit of history
Head to Vía Primavera, three or four minutes away. Pergamino Café, Café Velvet and Moara Café sit almost across from each other, so you can compare styles without walking more than a block. If you'd rather have a long breakfast, Floretto Brunch & Coffee is two minutes away.
Then walk on to Parque El Poblado, about nine minutes out. This is where the valley's first Spanish settlement was founded in 1616, and the Parroquia San José de El Poblado is right next to it. For a walk under the trees, Parque Lineal La Presidenta is best early in the day.
Afternoon: galleries, local design and gelato
The Ruta 14 gallery circuit starts almost next door and runs downhill. Policroma is closed Sundays and hours vary by gallery, so save it for a weekday or Saturday. Along the way, Makeno and Artesanías Colombia Mía cover your gifts: the first for top Colombian designers, the second for coffee, sweets and textiles.
Finish the afternoon at Amor-Acuyá Gelato, two minutes away. If your legs need a break, Wellness at Haven offers massages, IV therapy and hydrating facials without leaving the hotel.
Sunset: the city from above
The 360° Rooftop & Restaurant, on our 11th floor, has a pool and a 360-degree view of Medellín. For a change of scene, Náufrago Rooftop is less than a block away. Both make a good first stop before dinner.
Night: dinner and a drink close by
Provenza has serious dinner options one or two minutes away: Carmen, Mar y Fuego or Boro, depending on the mood. For drinks, Mala Audio Bar is mellow early in the evening, and Quema Que Quema, on our own street, is all salsa with live bands on weekends.

Things to do in El Poblado, depending on who you're with
As a couple: coffee on Vía Primavera, galleries in the afternoon, sunset on the rooftop and dinner in Provenza.
With friends: Mondongo's for bandeja paisa at lunch, Cuon in Manila for plates to share, and the Lleras area at night.
On business: Clemente Café & Flowers is quiet enough for a laptop, and Café Noir works for a polished meeting. Don Diablo, from the Carmen group, handles a client dinner one minute away.
What isn't walkable: downtown, Comuna 13, Pueblito Paisa or Guatapé. For those, see our full Medellín guide.
